Amelia's two months old!

  I cannot believe that Amelia is two months old already! Time is flying by and everyday it seems like she is doing something new!

•  This month Amelia started smiling when we talk to her and she has the cutest little smile! Her smile definitely makes our heart melt! 
• Amelia moved into her first home this month! We had been living with my family since we moved back to Utah. It was so helpful having my mom, dad and brothers around to help me with Amelia when I need a break or just needed to take a shower after she was born.
• Amelia is colicky starting at 9 pm and it lasts a couple hours.... It is so hard not being able to make her feel better and we have tried everything. Her daddy can normally calm her down and get her to sleep after a couple hours of her screaming by bouncing her and by rocking her.  During this time Garrett and I normally just trade off until she finally calms down. We will be so happy when she no longer has colic! 
• Amelia is still not sleeping through the night and I normally wake up with her about every three hours. Lets just say it will be nice when she gets on a schedule so we both get a little more sleep.
• This month, Amelia was  blessed by her daddy at church. It was a beautiful blessing and it was so great to have our most of our family there! She wore the same dress that I wore for my blessing day when I was her age so it was special!
• Amelia is becoming more alert and is starting to grab toys when they are placed in front of her. 
• She loves listening to music especially Disney music and her daddy playing guitar!
•  She loves to sleep to the sound of waves when she goes to bed. 
• Amelia got her shots this month and was not a very happy baby afterwards:( I felt so bad for my little girl and so happy that she wont have any more shots for at least a little while. 
• Amelia went for her first shopping trip to target this month and she slept the whole time. We know she really did love it though.
• Amelia loves to be rocked and falls right asleep. 
• Amelia went to the beach for the very first time this month and slept most of the time. 

 We love our little Amelia, it is so much fun to watch her grow each week! 

Amelia's Blessing Day!

   Amelia's Blessing day was this past Sunday. Her daddy gave her the blessing and her Papa Blair, pops (Garrett's dad, Emory), Our Bishop, Bishop Bennion, Clay Hudgins, and Uncle Collin participated. It was a special day, that was spent with many of her family members. Amelia, even got to wear my blessing dress that I was blessed in 23 years ago.

Amelia is 1 Month Old!

All about Amelia: 

Amelia is now 8 pounds 7 ounces. She has gained 2 pounds 7 ounces since she left the hospital. 

She has her days and nights mixed up. 

Loves to cuddle in our bed with us.
Will only sleep if her arms are out of blankets or her swaddle. 

Smiles and giggles in her sleep.
Went through a growth spurt and it seemed like all she did was eat.
We took her to the doctor when she was 2 weeks old because we thought she was coming down with a cold but it was just from her feedings backing up in her nose.
Does not like sleeping in her bassinet.
She loved to sleep in her swing the first couple of weeks but then after she could not breathe out of her nose well she slept on my chest all night. Now she is spoiled and will only sleep with us.
Started grabbing on to things this month and grabs on to my hair for dear life when she doesn't want to get in the bath tub.
Hated her bath at first but now loves it. She just hates getting dressed afterwards.
She reaches her arms out for you to hold her when you change her diaper.
During this month she became alot more alert but slept most of day and not much at night.
Loves to walk around with her Mimi in the morning to look at flowers and her hello kitty, and bunnies.
Also loves to look at her uncles painting of flowers.
Loves her passy but only the ugly ones they give out at the hospital and not her cute pink girly ones we bought her.
Neck is getting stronger and holds her head up without support for a long time.
Daddy calls her his little pirate because sometimes she only opens one of her eyes to look around.
Was away from mommy and daddy for the first time while Granna and Aunt Brittany watched her when Garrett and I went out for dinner for Valentine's day.
Loves her cuddle time when daddy gets off work and daddy rocks her to sleep at night while mommy tries to rest.
Loves when her daddy and uncle's sing and play guitar for her especially the Little Mermaid song " Under the Sea".

We are so happy our baby girl finally is here! She is the sweetest little girl, we just love her so much! I cannot believe my baby is already a month old! Time is going by too fast! 

             

                                                   

Amelia's Newborn Photoshoot

     When Amelia was a week old we had her newborn photos taken by Kayleigh Hayes. She did such a great job and as so good with Amelia. If any of you need photos let me know and I will give you her number! We just love how all of her pictures turned out!

Amelia's first doctor appointment.

   The first Monday after we got home from the hospital, Amelia had her first doctor appointment and Mimi came with us to help. Her pediatrician is my same pediatrician that I saw when I was little. She could not believe that I had a baby and she said that Amelia was her first grand baby patient. Never did I think that my babies one day would be seeing my same doctor when I got older. She had lost some weight at the hospital, which is normal, but gained some back. When the nurse weighed her at her appointment, she was 6 pounds 2 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. It will be fun to see how much she grows at each appointment.

Our Last Day at the Hospital

   After another long night at the hospital, we were all ready to go home. In the morning, my new nurse came in and told us that we should be allowed to leave at noon after both my doctor came and Amelia's pediatrician came to see her. We hurried and packed all of our stuff up because we were more than ready to go home and then we waited and waited... Around 3 o'clock both doctors had finally come and we finally were able to leave. Our nurse came to our room and escorted us out the door along with security guards at the door. Garrett got the car, and then Amelia and I jumped in.

 We then headed to Garrett's families house so little Amelia could meet her "Pops" (Garrett's dad). Garrett's dad was unable to be at the hospital when she was born because he was in New York for a business trip and he did not make it back into town until the day we were released out of the hospital. When we got to Garrett's families house, Amelia met her pops and got to spend some time with her Granna as well. It was a nice visit.

      After we left, we drove to my families house where we had been staying since we moved back from Utah until we find a place. Amelia then met Annie and was fought over by the family. She definitely is loved.
