Announcing baby gender to family!

   Garrett and I were the only ones that went to the ultrasound Wednesday morning but I wanted to plan a special way to announce the baby's gender to all of our family. So we invited all of our family over that night for dessert to break the news but the hard thing was we had to keep it a secret all day long from our family members! It was so hard to keep my mouth shut especially since I was with my mom all day, but Garrett and I were able to keep it a secret!

   When I got home from the ultrasound I made cupcakes with my mom and after they were finished baking I made her leave the room. I then put a plastic baby in one of the cupcakes and then decorated all of the cupcakes with either blue or pink frosting. The cupcake with the baby in it was of course covered with pink frosting so who ever chose the cupcake that night would find the baby and would know we were having a girl.
   Once our family all made it to my parent's house, we had everyone choose either a blue or pink cupcake depending on what gender they thought the baby was. Most of the guys thought we were having a boy and the girls thought we were having a girl. After everyone had a cupcake I counted to three and everyone started to eat their cupcake. After about a minute or so, Makenzie found the baby in the cupcake that had pink frosting!! Everyone then found out at the same time that we are expecting a girl!! It was so much fun having everyone over and being able to announce the gender to everyone at the same time! All of the girls then decided it was time to start shopping!!!
