In June, after running to the store to get a pregnancy test, I quickly found out that I was pregnant!!! Since we both decided a while ago that we were not going to have kids until we were both finished with school, this big news came as a big surprise for the both of us and a even bigger surprise for our family!
Garrett and I found out I was pregnant on a Saturday, which was of course a day that the doctors office was closed, so we had to wait until Monday to call the doctor! We didn't want to tell our family until we talked to the doctor to make sure the test was correct, so we had to wait 2 long days to tell our family the news. When Monday finally arrived, while sitting in my schools parking lot, I called the doctor right as the office opened to see if I could schedule an appointment. The nurse then said that the doctor would not need to see me until 10 weeks but she could give me my due date over the phone. After the nurse figured out my due date, she then told me I would be having the baby on January 30th, she stated that I was already approximately 6 weeks pregnant. I sat in my car in shock throughout the whole conversation with nurse. I was super excited but it just did not seem real to me that I would actually have a baby in my arms in January! As I hung up with the nurse after scheduling all my appointments I ran to class dyeing to call Garrett to tell him that I was 6 weeks pregnant!
When I got home from school and told Garrett the news we both could not wait to call our family! It was around noon, so we were going to have to wait all day for our parents to get home from work. I was texting my mom all day and of course I could not say a thing until she was with my dad but it was killing me to keep the secret!
Later that night after finally getting a hold of our parents, we skyped everyone. It was so funny seeing everyones reactions because everyone knew that we were waiting to have kids. No one expected the news at all but everyone was very excited! We could not be happier about the new addition to our family!!!
